as of 7 PM Weds - - - The Thursday Paddle will be to Hopeville Canyon, although I will still send a confirmation email very early in the morning just in case there's an unexpected drop in the level overnight. It's respectably above minimum now, it has been raining out there, and it's actually rising now. (reached 974 cfs/ 5.8 ft by 2:20 AM - Alf) I'm expecting John Snitzer and Alf Cooley (traveling together); Cotton, Gary Steinberg, and me traveling together; and Kim and Jenny traveling together. We will meet at the takeout at 11:30 (more on this below).
People who said maybe, so please do let me know if we should expect you, are Jim Long (jklongfarm@gmail.com, who is hoping to get someone near him to carpool), Jon Hauris (rvrkyk@yahoo.com), Lisa Laden (lisaladen@comcast.net), Barb Brown (PotomacB@verizon.net), and Cindy Rogers (seacin@gmail.com), all traveling solo unless they make other arrangements by contacting each other. I know Jon would like to get a ride from Manassas or points west of there, but at this point I don't know of anyone who'd be stopping in that area and who would have rack space. People on this email who were interested only in the Patapsco, so I'm not expecting them at Hopeville, are Chris Oberlin and Roger Blake.
Important: the takeout where we will meet at 11:30 can be easily located using maps.google.com by entering "Hopeville WV." The meeting place is a turnout (left side of the road as you head south) at the intersection of Route 28 South (which is also Route 55 West) and Jordan Run Rd.
To reiterate, do look for final email confirmation before 7:00 a.m. In the unexpected event of Hopeville being too low, the trip will be to the Patapsco in Ellicott City, and logistics info will be revisited in the morning email, seeking to put on the Patapsco around 11:00.
