Sunday Paddle - Violettes Lock-GW Canal Loop

For this week’s trip we will return to the Class II George Washington Canal. We will meet at 9:00 in the Violette&#39;s Lock parking lot (13948 Violettes Lock Rd. We will then cross the Potomac to run the canal and then return to Vilolettes Lock via either the C&amp;O canal or, for the hardy, an attainment up Seneca Breaks. As always, please let the trip coordinator, Tim Tilson know if you will be joining: hmslydia@msn.com or 703-273-9436 (home land line) or 703-864-0802 cell ONLY after 0800 Sunday morning. <br />The weather forecast is partly cloudy, high of 89. The forecast river level is 3.0’ on the Little Falls gauge, a moderate level for this section of river.<br /><br />PFDs are required for all. Helmets are required for kayakers using spray skirts and highly recommended for all others. Airbags are strongly encouraged for boats without other means of flotation. If you need safety equipment, please advise the trip coordinator in advance.
