This evening we screen “Godspeed Los Polacos”, the improbable story of a band of young Polish adventurers who slipped from behind the Iron Curtain to undertake an outrageous kayaking road trip ranging from North to South America, scoring numerous first descents while navigating not only Class 5 rapids but the treacherous currents of international political turbulence. A unique tale that will be enhanced by the presence of and commentary from the video’s creators, Adam Nawrot and Sonia Szczesna and more commentary from one of the featured characters, Piotr Chmielinski (yes, the same fellow who almost 32 years ago thrilled the CCA audience with his account of paddling the length of the Amazon River).
