WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY ADULT
WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY CHILD

This two-day weekend workshop teaches recognition and avoidance of common river hazards, execution of self-rescue techniques, and simple rescues of paddlers in distress.  Emphasis is placed on personal safety and on simple, commonly used skills.  Fundamental techniques for dealing with hazards that carry greater risks for both boater and rescuer such as entrapments and pins are also taught.  This course is aimed primarily at boaters who paddle in moving water up to class 2+.

We expect to do the workshop at Violettes Lock on the Potomac River beginning at 9:00.  All craft are welcome but there will be a safety inspection for features like proper flotation.  Please bring lunch, webbing and a throw rope, a medical kit, river knife and two carabiners if you have them.  Some spares will be available.
