Parking Arrangement Renewed for Needles Put-in

CCA and River Riders have renewed the annual arrangement that lets CCA trips use the River Riders campground in Bakerton, WV, for putting in on the Needles stretch of the Potomac River, under specified conditions.

The arrangement is for CCA members only. When logged in to the CCA website, members can navigate to Members Only > Parking Permits to download 2026 passes for display in their vehicles and to consult the complete parking policy. Boats must be unloaded across from, not on, the boat ramp and carried from there to the riverside. On weekend days through Labor Day, River Riders has to be given the approximate put-in time by email, only one CCA trip can use the Bakerton access, and all the vehicles except one must use designated overflow parking.

For paddlers other than under the CCA arrangement, River Riders charges a fee of $15 person for access at Bakerton.
