About this event
The weather forecast for Sunday is sunny and breezy with a high around 70 so this seems like a good week to launch the 2025 edition of the Sunday paddling season. We will return to our standard trip on the George Waashington Canal. Our resident canal whisperer, Alf Cooley, advises that the C&O has been rewatered for the season so we will meet at Violette's Lock to run a loop trip. Meeting time is 10:00. Please advise Wayne McDaniel (macinmd1@gmail.com), 443 542 8779) if you plan to join.
The predicted Little Falls gage is 3.4', a good level for this river section. The water temperature is likely to be in the mid 60s.
PFDs are required for all. Helmets are required for kayakers using spray skirts and highly recommended for all others. Airbags are strongly encouraged for boats without other means of flotation. If you need safety equipment, please advise the trip coordinator.
