We had 6 paddlers (Fred, Peter, Gary, Larry, Ken and yours truly) on the Staircase, with the Millville gauge at 4.4’. Advised of a log in slot #3, 3 of us ran slot #2 at Bull Falls and it was quite juicy, with a large diagonal wave hole to surmount. The other paddlers ran slot #2 without incident. The log is located on the left of slot #3 and appears to be easily avoidable by angling right, which is the usual approach. Smooth sailing after that until we came to the confluence where the Potomac was running around 37,000 cfs with big irregular waves and squirrely water all around. Roller coaster was totally washed out. Dry hair day for all.
