There were nine paddlers on a beautiful spring day who ran Riley’s to Pennyfield in glorious sunshine with little wind. No water in the water in the C&O canal, meant a Pennyfield take out. And since Riley’s is a better put in, it became a Riley’s to Pennyfield trip. The Little Falls gauge was 3.74 and the weather was a balmy mid-50s. Dry suits were de rigueur, but luckily not needed. Participants were Bruce C, Chris O, Jackie H, Jonathan A, Nadja R, Hugh H, Hendrik vO, Marilyn J and your faithful scribe. Most participants chose to put in at Riley’s However the intrepid Hugh H put in at Pennyfield and attained up through Seneca breaks. Everyone paddled well. We had a lovely lunch on a beach overlooking the river. A great day on the river.
