Five Thursday paddlers were rewarded April 3 with a warm spring day at Harpers Ferry free of rain (forecast was about 50%) and mostly free of wind (despite the forecast for wind gusts above 20 mph). We had several hours of surfing-filled fun on the 2-mile run from bridge to bridge on the Shenandoah into the Potomac. Millville gage was 2.77, a good B2B level even though it's not so good for the upper Staircase. Paddlers were kayakers Mark Brenneman, Ken Cohen, Gary Steinberg, and Jenny Thomas, and open boater Larry Lempert. Two of us hit the Red Barn in Jefferson on the way home, topping off a great day with great milkshakes. Ain't spring great?
