Potomac River Watershed Cleanup
Saturday, April 14, 2018
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Seneca Landing Park
on Riley’s Lock Road
Volunteers Welcome
Groups of volunteers will work from boats to pick up trash from Seneca Creek and the Potomac River. One group will work on the smooth waters of Seneca Creek using canoes provided by Calleva. Another group may work on the nearby Potomac River if weather and water conditions are favorable. A third group, the downriver paddlers, will use their own boats and gear, and should be experienced in Class 2 rapids. (Land-based volunteers are also welcome.)
All volunteers in boats are required to wear life jackets during this event.
All volunteers must sign a waiver form and attend a brief safety meeting.
Cleanup supplies will be provided: bags, gloves, grippers.
SSL hours are available for students.
