Sunday Paddle - GW LOOP - 5.8' -- CANCELLED
The Sunday paddlers will return this week to the George Washington Canal. The Sunday forecast for the Little Falls gauge is 4.8', a high level. Weather forecast is for a high around 70 with a good chance of showers (we will paddle rain or shine). Water temp will be in the mid 60s so please dress accordingly. We recommend lifejackets and helmets for all paddlers; please advise if you need safety equipment. At last word, the C&O Canal continues to be dewatered so we will meet at Pennyfield Lock at 10:00 to set shuttle. This is a short trip so no need to pack a lunch. However, for those so inclined, we will meet after the paddle at Villa Maya restaurant (5532 Norbeck Rd, Rockville) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. I am coordinating this week - please advise (macinmd1@gmail.com, 443 542 8779) if you plan to join for the paddle and whether you will be coming to Villa Maya. SYOTR, Wayne McD
