Thursday Paddle #2 - Attainment from Carderock
It’s a modest attainment and return through a beautiful but rarely run part of the Potomac. Plans are to meet in the Carderock parking lot (the ball fields and pavilion lot to the left) at 10:00. Attain up through Calico Falls, then return downstream via Yellow Falls on the VA side or underneath the climbing cliffs at Carderock via the MD channel. This center chute has wonderful cliffs and was beautiful this spring with the redbuds in bloom. I've not done this paddle at LFalls 3.0 so there will be an exploratory aspect to the trip. It was class 2 paddling at a higher level in spring with a few challenging attainment moves and a long ferry. Fine beach for a snack break. ///

/Covid restrictions apply. Please bring a mask in case one is needed in the parking lot. Attainment up the middle channel of the Potomac from Carderock, past wonderful big cliffs, return via the VA or MD channel. This is a beautiful stretch of the Potomac that we ignore in the A-L10 paddles.///
