Trip Reports

George Washington Canal - August 18, 2019
Wayne McDaniel
We had eight paddlers evenly divided between open boaters (Laura & Kyle(PFD) K, Tim B & Tim T) and kayakers (John S, Laura, Paul & Wayne McD). River level was 3.13' at the Little Falls gauge, the lowest it's been for a Sunday GW trip in two years - paddling the canal was like becoming reacquainted with an old friend. No difficulties with the run, which was completed in quick fashion due to high heat/humidity. The strainer downstream of Jacuzzi rapid continues to block passage.
