A glorious 70 degree January day drew us to Catoctin Creek which registered 600 cfs after the heavy rains the night before. Thanks to Rich Conde who negotiated the shuttle labyrinth, Sumantown Road to Ausherman Road like a pro. We parked at the Catoctin Creek Nature Center for the putin. The river was coffee colored and boisterous for Catoctin Creek, even tho it was dropping. One strainer at the bottom necessitated an easy portage. Dinner at the China Gourmet in Frederick ended a perfect day.
