On a chilly, calm Saturday, 28 Dec, 9 well-wrapped souls set shuttle at Pennyfield, then ventured forth at Violettes. Wonderful paddle though. Me, Mark*, 2 Quams, Miki, Lisa Laden*, Larry*, Tim, and Barb*. Four paddled down to the shuttle, five attained**. The forest is pretty in winter with massive oaks and the sun playing in the stark white sycamore branches. Everyone bundled up. I was hot after getting across the river.
