Violette's Lock Loop.  Eight of us enjoyed a chilly Sunday morning (upper 50s as we were putting in) on the water (at 2.8 feet).  Water temp was about 65 according to the Little Falls gauge.  Five kayaks were Barb, Peter, Gordy, Alex, and myself.  Alf paddled a canoe/kayak hybrid he confirms most vehemently is a legitimate C-1 (will post video to Facebook). Two canoes were Mike, and Tim Brown.  We were all business and no swimming ... though one of our party attempted to practice their roll at the surfer's ledge.  Everyone enjoyed Alf's C-1 that hasn't seen water since 2011, but performed admirably well.   For something new we paddled down the "jacuzzi" side and "booty scooted" on river right around the now notorious (and completely blocked) log jam.  Peter and Barb attained up the Breaks, while the rest of us slackers ferried across and paddled up the canal.  Barb and Peter switched leads as they paddled up the center of Seneca breaks to the dam and across to the takeout. Great work out, good times, and pizza for a reward (for the attainers). Canal turtle count - 9.
