If I didn't have to work, I would have joined you.  I ran it last Sunday, at 2.90, CFS between 2500 and 3000 (can't remember, but higher than 19X0).  I barely made it out of Z Channel, and yes, the MD side was much harder than I remember (about 4 years ago, and at a higher tide).
The thermometer reached 98 today, a Washington record for September 12th. Undeterred, nine K-1 paddlers (Alf C, Allison, Barb B, Brad L, Chris O, John S, Mike A and Wayne McD) took on Little Falls at 2.81', its lowest level in two years. Several of us remarked on the dramatic difference in river conditions between this week and last (2.97", a difference of of less than 2"). Although, as Mike noted, the more pertinent comparison would be CFS: 2700 vs. 1940. Anyway, among other oddities, the cleaver rock in the Z channel slot was completely above water and the last drop at Little Falls rapid (MD side) was considerably more complex with new rocks emerging in unexpected locations. Only Chris chose to run the VA side. Despite the unfamiliar conditions, no carnage to report.
