Three rangers ran a trip from Black Rock to Berryville on Tuesday night @120 CFS on the Dawsonville gauge.   Black Rock to 28 had two significant logjams. The first had a passage through on the left but a narrow one; I was able to get out of my canoe and straddle an Ash tree to pull the other two (in rec kayaks) over without them having to get out.  The second jam was the one that we portaged on the left on our previous trip.  The path we took last time was overgrown with mile-a-minute and tall grass.   Image result for mile a minute plant We chose to hop out on the right instead. The bank was steep and muddy but once we got up the bank it was a short 20 yard portage down a trail to a nice rocky beach.

Route 28 to Berryville was a pleasant surprise.  We report this section to be completely clear as of June 4th.  There is still plenty of wood in the Creek to navigate around, but the closest thing we saw to a river wide obstruction was a tree that I had to duck in a canoe that our kayakers simply floated under.

Additionally a few of our rangers went down to Berryville and cleared out all of the wood that was stacked up along the guard rail, so the takeout is clear as well. That section is ready for paddling!
