Trip Reports

THURS, 22 Oct - Little Falls - 2.97 ft

We had seven people on the river at 2.97 ft. A foggy start but the fog lifted and we had a beautiful warm day. On the trip were Howard Morland, Paul Mohler, Lisa Laden, Wayne McDaniel, Gus Anderson, Bruce Campbell and a newbie to the area, James Powell, who recently transferred his paddling license from the Chatooga to the Potomac. Lots of surfing waves if you got the right line, an easy endless surf on the wave below the Beaver run, which several people ran without mishap. Everyone ran the Maryland side except James who took the left side of the Virginia chute, got deflected into the hole, worked over a little, flipped and then rolled up with a big smile on his face. Wayne, Howard and Bruce took out below Little Falls at a foot below high tide and the rest of us enjoyed a pleasant paddle to Fletchers. Nothing like a combat roll to make your day.
