34 turtles, or was it 40, as Ginny claimed? And why aren't they in the top part of the C&O Canal? Otherwise Barb's trip with Gary, Ginny, and Alf was without controversy. At 3.8 ft, the rapids in the GWC were more interesting than last week, though by the same token, the C&O was an inch lower and nearer to ultimate canoeing zero. As we were pulling out we met John Snitzer & Gus Anderson with their shuttle bunnies, about to put into the river. Life is good.
